She is dress to go out wearing a beautiful jacket in a wonderful silk that is of the same colors as her gown but in a smaller striped, the jacket can be removed with some effort and so is not recommended , but it is the first time I have made a doll where the clothes were not completely sewn on. She does have a gold silk top completely trimmed under the jacket. Lady Hilliary is made as all my doll with enameled eyes and hand carve hands, and legs that bend at the hip and knees.

Hello, this doll is very lovely indeed. She wears a dress of 18th century silk in rose and tan with stripes of brown green and very find gold. Her underskirt is a khaki colored green which is the same color green as in the dress fabric. She wears a stomacher of antique rose with gold thread throughout the floral pattern. I have trimmed the dress in a fabulous antique french trim, the pictures cannot begin to do it justice. So beautiful. She has matching shoes, enameled eyes, and human hair hand sewn wig. All the details are here to make her a wonderful addition to your collection. She stands on her own here in the pictures so you can get the full effect of her without the distraction and added height of the doll stand however she has a stand for display. I named her Lady Kennicott after one of the very first settlers here in the area where I live. As I grew up we went to school with children who were his descendants. The house he built in 1856 is a Historic landmark called the Grove mansion http://www.glenviewparks.org/The-Grove/The-Grove.htm. It is a place of numerous reenactments. while the house and Dr. John Kennicott are 19th century this Lady surely could represent an even earlier descendant of his. This doll has a wonderful country girl look . Her human hair wig was inspired from late 17th century hair style with it’s loose curl off to one side was take from a painting of Baroness Petersfield, Duchessed’Aubigny Mistress to Charles II King of England. I hand embroidered her stomacher with antique gold thread incorporated into the backround it also was take form a late 17th century example. Her gown is made from a fabulous 18th century silk brocade which I book matched in the front. the under dress is a peach colored silk which offsets the rust background of the antique silk. I really like the look an proportions of this doll . She bends at the hips and knees so a William and Mary chair would be a great accent to accompany her.

Hello. This is one of my newest dolls she is a wonderful 8 inch English Wooden with my hand fired enameled eyes that look right at you, one of the prettiest faces I have done to date. She is a mix of old and new. The top of her dress is this absolutely fabulous 18th century Green silk. I just love this color but what to do for the skirt the green was cut out from a large striped patter on the 18th century fabric to large for this petite Lady Hmmmm……So I look into my fabric drawers and found this perfect small iridescent plaid with the same color green shimmering through it PERFECT! I also used some very old embroidered trim I had, it had all the colors of the dress in it. The trim, I am told was found in a Scottish castle. It has the tiniest embroidered flowers on a very fine lawn fabric with a gold chain edging. So I used a fine lawn trim at the top of her dress the embroidered trim for her stomacher as well. I crocheted out of antique gold metallic thread a small chain to add around the top of her neckline and stomacher it all went together so great. She has green silk shoes as well. I hand stitched her human hair wig and I love how it flows so nicely. She is just lovely.

This doll is so lovely I have dressed her in the most fabulous 18th century woven silk brocade. I love this fabric and was able to use the larger parts of the design for the skirt and the more delicate fine part of the design for the upper body of the dress so it is in perfect proportion to the doll. I have always love the color combination of green and pink, and after seeing it in used in a dress from the film Casanova I have been wanting to put the two colors together. Lady Payton has a pink silk underskirt with rosette rushing . I have trimmed her sleeves in the same pink silk as well as the ruffle around her neckline. she also has pink silk shoes. I had some very small pink trim and it seemed just perfect for this ensemble. there are delicate silk bows accenting her neckline and cuffs, and shoes. I also wanted to do something different with her hair also seen in prints and period film was this woven ribbon through the hair so Lady Payton has a pink silk ribbon woven through her hair. I think she has a lovely figure she is made as all my English wooden dolls with enameled eyes, and wooden torso, legs bending at the hip and knees. I hope you enjoy looking at her as much as I enjoyed making.
