Hello every one well this was just for fun she is so tiny and sweet . She is fully articulated like the original Higgs dolls bending at the hips and knees. She is wearing a dress I made from some 18th century scraps of deep blue silk under dress, and an embroidered silk open robe gown. I trimmed it in a gold embroidered floss and gold thread. With little hand made tassels. Her hair is hand stitched red mohair and she has the tiniest of curls . I am very pleased with how she turned out. I have made her a stand for support. I have left naming her to the lucky person who takes her home. Please leave a comment on her at the bottom of the page in the comment box.

This is another one of my William Higgs style dolls she is 9 inches tall so a very small Higgs doll. I am especially pleased with her she has a very authentic look ,very old looking. This is due to the 18th century Fabric I used as well as very old trims. Her dress is made from 18th century striped silk. This silk has some worn spots which you will be able to see in the photos I love this about it .This is exactly what you would expect to see if you had an original doll the old fabric would be showing sings of age and wear.I line the skirt with a tuquoise silk for stability. The trim as well is very old. the sleeves on the dress have the wide opening at the end with some very fine batiste fabric I styled the sleeve from examples I found in old painting of Lady’s in the late 1600’s around 16 77 0r so. Her hair as well was styled after the Lady’s in these paintings, with the small side curls around the face. I love the red color of her hair as the Ladies of the period seem to favor this color. She is a very sturdy doll able to stand alone but I have made her a stand for added support and to be safe.

Her dress : She wears a sack back dress in a vintage stripped silk of light gold and brown. I lined the dress in gold silk. The front of the dress is trimmed in the most wonderful hand made antique trim of cream and light pink roses. Her cuffs are decorated with a gathered strip of the same fabric as the dress, and end in a decorative pinwheel finished with antique net lace ruffles. her antique lace collar end in a very fine very old batiste bow. down the front of the dress is a row of small buttons of fine glass beads. Of course our lady must have jewelry so I made her a lovely necklace of very rare micro beads in a pearl white I made the tiniest of silver pendants with an amber drop of translucent glass. These beads are so small and not even made any more, they are 100 years old. Her hair is a period style with the rolled curls and fine ringlets on each side. Subtly decorated with a brown bow. THE ROOM: Well I have to say my eyes need a rest after making this very tiny room it measures 6 inches x 6 inches wide and stands only 5 inches tall. I made every thing in the room excluding the rug. The room is taken from an example of a 1775 Virginia Parlor. It has a very impressive mantel with Pilasters on either side decorated with crown moldings . the windows are 12 panes and have paneled shutters I have painted a lovely garden sene outside the windows to complete the look. the furniture feature a Chippendale Settee with upholstered seat in a gold and brown striped silk. the side chair is a George the lll also upholstered in silk but this time it is gold and tan. I made a pedestal table which has two hand carved wine glasses and a decanter these are carved from a very hard plastic and finished to a clear finish giving them the look of glass. I have made two different candles for the room one on the table is a silver cancel holder with a handel and the other is also carved from the plastic to look like glass and sits on the mantel. I have put a can of cola by the room to give you an idea of scale.
