13 inch Lady Kennicott

Hello, this doll is very lovely indeed. She wears  a dress of 18th century silk in rose and tan with stripes of brown green and very find gold.  Her underskirt is a khaki colored green which is the same color green as in the dress fabric. She wears a stomacher of antique rose with gold thread throughout the floral pattern. I have trimmed the dress in a fabulous antique french trim, the pictures cannot begin to do it justice. So beautiful. She has matching shoes,  enameled eyes, and human hair hand sewn wig. All the details are here to make her a wonderful addition to your collection.  She stands on her own here in the pictures  so you can get the full effect of her without the distraction and added height of the doll stand however she has a stand for display. I named her Lady Kennicott after one of the very first settlers here in the area where I live. As I grew up we  went to school with children who were his descendants.  The house he built in 1856 is a Historic landmark called the Grove mansion http://www.glenviewparks.org/The-Grove/The-Grove.htm. It is a place of numerous reenactments. while the house and Dr. John Kennicott are 19th century this Lady surely could represent an even earlier descendant of his. This doll has a wonderful country girl look .  Her human hair wig was inspired from late 17th century hair style with it’s loose curl off to one side was take from a painting of Baroness Petersfield, Duchessed’Aubigny Mistress to Charles II King of England. I hand embroidered her stomacher with antique gold thread incorporated into the backround  it also was take form a late 17th century example. Her gown is made from a fabulous 18th century silk brocade which I book matched in the front. the under dress is a peach colored silk which offsets the rust background of the antique silk. I really like the look an proportions of this doll .  She bends at the hips and knees so a William and Mary chair would be a great accent to accompany her.

If you love her don’t pass her by, ask about our layaway plan.

Meet Lady Jeannette she is 14 inches tall and so beautiful. She wears a lovely gown made from18th century off white and pale gold stripes. this fragile but awesome fabric has some signs of ware but this adds all the more to her aged appearance and the century she represents. She is made as the authentic English wooden dolls are with  turned torso, hand carved legs and arms. Her legs  bend at the hips and knees and she has my hand fired enameled eyes. her body turned out so well she is able to stand on her own but she does come with a custom made stand to support her. I have lined her dress in a very pretty coral colored silk, her stomacher is made of this same silk. Her dress is trimmed in antique coral silk ribbon. She has a lace turban made of the finest antique lace.  I made her necklace  from  100 year old antique micro beads she has a wonderful shape and presence a very gentle and pleasant face.
